This year we are celebrating Earth Day on Saturday April 20th with our volunteer actions, celebration and WhaleFest. But also all month long with our educational activities, Street to Beach cleanups and other events for adults and kids.

Street to Beach Cleanups | Done by yourself or with family and/or peers whenever is convenient for you. It can be around your neighborhood, at the beach, in a needy area, or anywhere you’d like. (More info below) | Sign up online here |

Take advantage of Earth Day to volunteer and do your part and help the planet and the whales.
Litter Pick Up
- Join the Street to Beach cleanup volunteers and read our tips for a successful cleanup
- Community service hours
- Use the Clean Swell App
Gardening
- Plant native plants such as the Silver Lupines which are essential to the survival of the Mission Blue Butterfly (Earth Honoree 2022)
- Remove invasive weeds
- Plant native plants to your area, bigger patches will help attract pollinators
- Find alternatives to pesticides such as neem oil
- Compost your green waste and use it to build a healthy and biologically diverse soil
- If you can, leave some sections of your yard wild (to not remove dead plants, brown leaves etc…) this helps insects and birds

Habitat Restoration
- Remove invasive weeds
- Volunteer & learn at Pacifica Gardens
- Volunteer at the National Parks
- Propagate Native plants with Pacifica Gardens Native Plant nursery or San Bruno Mountain Watch
- Join a habitat restoration group event near you (check on Nextdoor and your local Land Trust or park)
