Our first cleanup in Monterey last Sunday was a success.

We started the morning at 9AM with the Bamboo Reef staff who debriefed the scuba divers about the location and how to enter, where to drop and what to expect. After the 2 tank dives, our scuba divers found 4 LBS of trash, and mostly crayons that might come from the Fish Hopper restaurant above McAbee beach.

Then at 12PM, our first volunteers for the beach cleanup arrived and they started cleaning up the beach and the streets around. Together, they picked up 5 LBS of trash. Mostly food wrappers, plastic bottles and cigarette butts.

Thank you to Bamboo Reef Scuba Diving Centers and staff for letting us partner with you to do our first underwater and above water cleanup and in Monterey, which was also, another first! That was fun, let’s do it again soon!
