Thank you, Pacificans
Clean beaches, streets, lots, businesses, open spaces, and trails are a blessing and a joy. They lift up my spirits and make me appreciate life, nature and people. Finding litter disappoints and deflates my spirit and I think deep down it affects everyone similarly.
Thank you to the thousands of Pacifican’s/visitors who pick up litter, don’t litter, recycle more, create less waste, and go out of their way to make Pacifica cleaner and more beautiful. Thank you to the businesses with clean entrances and parking.
Thank you schools, community groups, teams, scouts, churches, and families who jump in and help for Earth Day and Coastal Cleanup and during the year. You roll up your sleeves and help us clean all of Pacifica. Team leaders, you deserve a huge applause and hugs from all. Your work inspires and your whole team benefits as do we!
Special thanks and appreciation to the dedicated Pacific Beach Coalition members, who speak up for the environment with action, education and always with a smile. You’ve led and inspired 12,000 volunteers to clean up, weed and plant natives, netting 25,000 volunteer hours, 8.5 tons of trash, one ton recycles, and 12 tons of invasive weeds removed.
Because of this, I have hope for a clean Pacifica, a clean ocean, vibrant native habitats and a population that expects no less. Thank you for caring for the environment and each other. We are in this together and I like what I see! Happy Holidays to all.
