Saturday’s May Clean Up greeted us with a beautiful rainbow over the ocean. It was a chilly but clear morning and we were prepared for a big crowd. We had a Stanford Alumni Group, Notre Dame Middle School and many other families and students getting those end of the school year hours in!
Our Site Captain Wendy, Jr. Site Captain Sophie, and Naturalist Greg stayed busy chatting with and gearing the 65 volunteers with supplies and information. The kids especially are loving the Mission Blue Stickers and buttons.
The feedback was that there was not much litter to be picked up. Having the extra Earth Day and Middle of the week small group clean ups is really helping out. Overall a smooth and fun day at Rockaway Beach.
