On Saturday 25 March, as I was attending the American Pharmaceutical Association Meeting in San Francisco, Joe Recto stood in admirably as Site Captain and was assisted by many of the site’s Rock Stars who are regular supporters of this cleanup plus new volunteers. See photos below.

Good weather and a 35-strong group of volunteers cleaned up 147 lb trash and 800 cigarette butts. There was a great deal of glass recyclables (30 lb) and only a few pounds of plastic and aluminum. Thanks to Joe Recto, the Mussel Rock Stars and all other volunteers!

Remember to mark your calendars for the 2017 Earth Day Cleanup at Mussel Rock on 22 April, from 9am to 11am; then plan to gather at the South Parking Lot of Linda Mar Beach where we will have our Eco-Fest, enjoy live music and lots to eat, see and do, from 11am to 2.30pm.
