Making a Difference At Sharp Park
On March 24, 2023, a group of dedicated volunteers came together to clean up Sharp Park beach and the surrounding streets. Their hard work and commitment to keeping our coastline and ocean safe for people and wildlife made a significant impact, with the group collecting an impressive 38 pounds of trash, 6.5 pounds of recyclables, and an astounding 886 cigarette filters! This achievement is a testament to the dedication and perseverance of everyone involved. Every piece of trash picked up is one less item polluting our ocean and harming marine life.
If you’re interested in doing more to help, there are plenty of ways to get involved:
- Join other PBC cleanup or habitat restoration events: check out our calendar of outings to find one that fits your schedule
- Join our Street to Beach program, which allows you to pick up litter on your own time and make it count towards our efforts to keep our coastline clean!
- Sign up for our newsletters to stay up to date on our monthly schedules, tips, and news
- If you’d like to support our work, you can make a donation to help us bring education and experiences to people of all ages
Thank you to all the volunteers who came out on March 24th to help make a difference. You are true Earth Heroes, and your efforts are truly appreciated, and we hope to see you at our next beach clean or habitat restoration event!
