56 Volunteers came out to Rockaway on this beautiful sunny day to help clean up.  The surf was pounding, so no one went on the beach, but it didn’t stop them from picking up 32 pounds of trash, 12 pounds of recycling (to include a formerly wall-mounted Flat Screen TV), and a whopping 1575 butts.  Our newest juniors, Arjun and […]

On Friday, over 50 volunteers suited up with buckets and gloves and filled a quarter of a giant dumpster with trash!

Despite the chilly weather, we successfully cleared 20 pounds of trash and 370 cigarette butts off the beach!

Our unusual find for the day consisted of an adult sized fuzzy stuffed hair band with a jaunty pink bow on it. 

We had a great cleanup with about 50 volunteers who picked up an astounding 700 butts, 55 pounds of trash, and 5 pounds of recyclables

Two volunteers also picked up a massive load of fishing line that appeared to have been stuck in the seabed for a very long time, and another found and donated a $10 bill.

November 4th’s beach cleanup at Rockaway Beach was a success with an impressive turnout of 78 dedicated volunteers.
