Past Event – 15th Annual Movie Fundraiser

We are pleased to introduce our 2022 Annual Surf Movie Fundraiser. Once again our program will be hosted virtually via Crowdcast (similar to Zoom).

EVERYTHING & ALL, The Peter Mel Story is the newly released life story of Peter Mel. It’s a story about chasing excess, the ruins that occur when it’s found, and the glory awaiting when you overcome it. At times a bit stark and disturbing, it is the story of facing your demons and choosing a different path. It is rated PG-13.

We will also feature Surf Sisters, a special episode from the National Geographic Documentary Impact. And to continue our tradition, we have invited special guests to join us:

  • Taylor Paul: STAB Filmmaker & Big Wave Surfer
  • Kelsey Ellis: Local Surf Therapy Facilitator
  • Greg Cochran: Local Surf Legend
  • Frank Quirarte: Photographer & Big Wave Safety Director

This year, we are giving you the special opportunity to choose your ticket price. 1 ticket is valid for 1 household and based on the size of your wallet (and heart) you can choose between different supporting levels. If you would like to contribute more, feel free to purchase multiple tickets.

So get comfy, make some popcorn (or support your local small business by ordering takeout), get your beverages of choice and enjoy our 15th annual surf movie night.

Thank you for supporting Earth Month and our annual programs to keep our beaches and ocean clean, restore habitat and connect people to the earth!

We will dedicate the Surf Sisters movie to surfer and dear friend Izzy Sczcepaniak, to all we’ve lost to Covid and to the Health Care Workers who have been on the front lines for so long now. And thanks to the Pedro Point Surf Club, EarthCapades for hosting this Crowdcast event, and to our premier sponsor, Recology of the Coast.

Thank you for supporting Earth Month and our annual programs to keep our beaches and ocean clean, restore habitat and connect people to the earth!

About EVERYTHING & ALL, A Peter Mel Story – PG-13

In the film, Peter shares never-before-told stories from his tumultuous rise-and-fall-and-rise. His upbringing in the family surf shop. The perks and pitfalls of running with the “Santa Cruz Crew.” How he and Darryl “Flea” Virostko pushed each other to the brink, in and out of the water. It’s a story about chasing excess, the ruins that occur when its found, and the glory awaiting when you overcome it.

About Surf Sisters from the National Geographic Documentary IMPACT

Kelsey of Pacifica, California, is driven by two passions: surfing and helping people through grief and trauma.
