Basking in Earth’s Bounty at Linda Mar
A beautiful day at Linda Mar Beach set the stage for our March 16th cleanup! Ana equipped the day’s volunteers with a sense of calm and gratitude, encouraging everyone to look around, take a deep breath, and appreciate what Mother Nature offered us at the day’s cleanup site. Our wonderful and passionate Site Captains Jim, Ana, Annabelle, and assistant Charlie led 123 volunteers in their efforts.
To some volunteers, the beach already looked clean, but by the end of the event, our Earth Heroes pulled 170 pounds of trash, 20 pounds of recycling and 562 cigarette butts off the beach and surrounding areas! We had quite the crews: La Entrada Middle School, Nespresso, US Public Health Service, National Charity League, Mission Marines from Carlmont, many other groups, and our local friends all pitching in to clean up for two sunny, warm hours. Of course, the monthly Linda Mar excursion wouldn’t be complete without our volunteers finishing the day off at the famous beachside Taco Bell!
Our heroes are spreading the word with posters and outreach about Earth Day and WhaleFest on April 20th. We look forward to seeing many of you then!
We appreciate everyone who supports Pacific Beach Coalition’s work and educational programs. Thank you for helping us to protect our beautiful ocean and coastline by donating money, time, or both! Your dollars will go towards our ongoing educational efforts (such as the Naturalists program) and our beach cleanups and habitat restoration efforts along the coastal trail. Thank you so much for any contribution: big or small!
