Morning In Paradise: Surfer’s Beach Recap
Another beautiful morning in paradise was witnessed at Surfer’s Beach and Pillar Point during our October beach cleanup event! The day brought about amazing volunteers who turned out to help keep our beaches, parking lots, and nearby areas pristine. It was inspiring to hear from so many people that the beach was already looking clean, thanks to the dedication of past and present volunteers! We’re forever grateful to everyone who came out and made a difference—your efforts make our little slice of paradise that much more welcoming and beautiful for everyone.
Special shoutout to our new Jr. Site Captain, Charlotte, who jumped right into action and led with confidence. Whoever trained her at previous sites did an excellent job, and we’re lucky to have her on the team! It was great to have our Naturalist, Natalie with us this week, along with Maggie and Nathan, who were instrumental in making the day a success. Big thanks to the Harbor Patrol for lending a hand as well. ❤️
With 50 volunteers, we collected 46 pounds of trash, 18 pounds of recyclables, and a jaw-dropping 839 cigarette butts!
Next up, we’ll be gathering at the boat launch location on November 30th for our Thanksgiving weekend cleanup. We hope to see you there!
We appreciate everyone who supports Pacific Beach Coalition’s work and educational programs. Thank you for helping us to protect our beautiful ocean and coastline by donating money, time, or both! Your dollars will go towards our ongoing educational efforts (such as the Naturalists program) and our beach cleanups and habitat restoration efforts along the coastal trail. Thank you so much for any contribution: big or small!
