On Saturday, June 15th, Linda Mar Beach witnessed a fantastic turnout of over 50 dedicated volunteers for a community cleanup event. Armed with gloves and trash bags, our eco-warriors combed the sands and surrounding areas, picking up large pieces of foam, metal nails, cigarette butts, and a variety of other harmful items. The hard work paid off, resulting in the collection of 232 pounds of trash and 8 pounds of recyclables! The staggering amount of 387 cigarette butts alone highlighted the critical need for such cleanup efforts.

Every piece of trash removed from the beach prevents potential harm to marine life and contributes to the health and beauty of our coastline, and we appreciate every volunteer who came out on this sunny day to contribute. Events like these not only help to preserve our natural environment but also foster a sense of community and shared responsibility for the planet, and we hope to inspire more people to participate in future cleanups!
