New Year, New Discoveries at Esplanade
Esplanade kicked off the new year right with its first cleanup event of 2024 turning out to be a resounding success. 31 dedicated volunteers joined us, including enthusiastic students who traveled from as far as San Jose to participate. The event also marked a significant milestone as a new junior site captain received training.
The cleanup yielded some intriguing discoveries, with volunteers uncovering a discarded table and lamps during the process. In just two hours, volunteers collected 30 pounds of recycling, 251 pounds of garbage, and an impressive 893 cigarette butts.
The success of the cleanup wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of everyone involved. A huge and heartfelt thank you to each volunteer who joined us at Esplanade. We look forward to your continued support at future events, fostering a cleaner and more sustainable community for all!
We appreciate everyone who supports Pacific Beach Coalition’s work and educational programs. Thank you for helping us to protect our beautiful ocean and coastline by donating money, time, or both! Your dollars will go towards our ongoing educational efforts (such as the Naturalists program) and our beach cleanups and habitat restoration efforts along the coastal trail. Thank you so much for any contribution: big or small!
