Linda Mar Beach had a rough morning this Fifth of July after a long night of fireworks. Poppers, mortars, streamers, sparklers, and more littered the ground as far as the eye could see. What seemed like an impossible task at the beginning of the morning, was quickly taken care of with the teamwork of local Earth Heroes!

The volunteers covered all Linda Mar hotspots, some even went as far as to clean the Park-
and-Ride, Community Center, and Pedro Point Shopping Center! With the help of the City of
Pacifica Public Works staff and 82 volunteers filled up three quarters of the 15 AND 20 yard dumpsters with Fourth of July fallout in just under two hours.

Thank you to our Earth Heroes for coming out early with a smile. What better way to celebrate our country than by keeping it clean!

The impact of firework debris on the planet is far-reaching and concerning. While fireworks may dazzle us with their colors and spectacle, the aftermath tells a different story. The remnants of fireworks pose significant environmental hazards and the debris often find its way into bodies of water, polluting our oceans and contaminating delicate ecosystems.

To minimize the impact of firework debris, it is crucial to promote environmentally friendly alternatives and responsible disposal methods. Thank you to our terrific and hard-working volunteers who make cleanup events like this one possible.
