A record 95 volunteers from Half Moon Bay, Montara, Moss Beach, Freemont, San Carlos, Danville, Atherton, and Modesto came out for a huge Earth Day Cleanup at Montara State Beach!

Together, they picked up 111 lbs of trash, 24 lbs of recycle, 65 bottle caps, 13 straws and 305 cigarette butts from the beach, parking lots and bluff.

We also removed a tent and chair, an old tire, and lots of dog poop.

The most interesting find of the day was two ripped $100 bills.
