350 Cigarette Butts at Harbor and Surfers Beach
A break in the rain allowed us to remove 70 lbs of trash and 350 cigarette butts last weekend from Harbor Beach in Pillar Point Harbor, Surfers Beach and the Jetty Skate Ramp.
We found some pretty unusual items like a BMW bumper, a bottle of perfume and a couple of underwear. We were also able to remove the rusty crab pots that has been stuck for years in the rocks by the stairs at Surfers Beach, yay!
We were glad 15 volunteers show up on the last Saturday right before Christmas and they got to learn super cool stuff from Julie, our naturalist. They got to touch a 3.5M y/o fossilized clam! It was a great way to enjoy the sunlight of the shortest day of the year.
Thank you all, we will see next year!
